Abstract
43 cases of acute appendicitis have been observed from 1st may 1968 to the 31 august at the Seoul Red Cross Hospital. The authors have reviewed and discussed about the incidence, sumptoms and length and inflamatory process of appendicitis.
Significant conclusion drawn from this study were as follows.
1. Incidence:
Ave. age: 23,7 years old.
M:F-24:19
2. Durations of the symptoms before admission.
2,95 days.
3. Symptoms and signs.
Most common and reliable symptoms were abdominal pain (R.L.Q.) and tenderness (R.L.Q.). 67% (29 cases) of the 43 cases have shown the leucocytosis. 20.9% (9cases) of the 43 cases have shown the perforation.
4. In our studies, generally the small in length of the appendix shows the severe inflammation, whereas the long in length of appendix shows mild inflammations.
